      Monday Morning Motivation

      Hey everyone I hope you had a great weekend. Here is another great quote from Zig Ziglar.

      “A man or a woman without a goal is like a ship without a rudder. Each will drift and not drive. Each will end up on the beaches of despair, defeat, and despondency.” – Zig Ziglar

      This is something I have talked about many times before but we all need a refresher course here and there. You must have goals, no matter if its business, personal life, or under the bar. If you do not have them as Zig Ziglar describes you will end up in despair and defeat. All a goal does is give you an end destination, to make sure your on the right track.

      You do not need to know the exact route of how to get there but the goal will help give you an idea. Just as with driving from your start destination to ending. There are usually many routes to get there but to do that you have to know the end destination(your goal). So keep this in mind when you set out to achieve anything.

      Dirty Little Garage

      Whats up everyone!

      I always love looking back on life and seeing how myself, and just life has changed and evolved.   Not in a way where I sit and dwell on the past but in a productive way.  I do this especially when my birthday rolls around every year.  This past Monday night Joe(one of my clients) and I were talking about the new gym compared to the old gym.  How now we have 3,000 sqft to play in compared to my old 12′x10′ garage where I started training my guys at.  Since we had some rain last week, we joked about how when it rained we would all have to try and cramp in the garage for 90% of our lifting and this big pound would start to form in the front.  Also how I would always drag the 100′ extension cord out to the garage for the one light and the radio.  Also the old clothing hanger we used to use as our pull up bar.  Man were those the days!  This made me smile as we had so much fun but also to see how much we have grown.

      One thing he also said is that the workouts didn’t get easier or harder, they still have always kicked his ass.  You do not need anything big and fancy to get bigger, stronger and faster.  I got a facility as for a business stand point I wanted to have all my clients in one area, have a place we could throw around tire, run with sleds and blast heavy rock all year long with no complaints.

      I just really wanted to share this story as it just makes me smile and I hope to encourage other people who are looking to do the same thing.  If you want to build your own underground gym for yourself or one that you can train your own clients at, DO IT!  I have plenty of videos on my youtube channel www.youtube.com/BodySynergyTraining talking about this, you can always email me for questions.

      Visualization has such a HUGE impact on what we will accomplish under the bar and out in our daily life. I recently picked up the book Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz(well the 2000 updater version) His research, findings and teachings are what helped start and changed the world in psychology. Since then a lot of sports psychologist and motivational speakers have used these methods to literally change peoples lives and achieve their goals.

      So make sure you are always keeping your self-image as a winner, be #1 in your world and it will come to be true in the real world.

      A Night of Underground Madness

      Whats up guys!?

      So I had a kick ass feature lined up for you guys from one bad ass mofo, but he wanted to wait to post it as hes going to make it even better for you all.  So stayed tuned for another week or so for that one.

      In the mean time check out this video of some crazy bad ass guys training at the Body Synergy Gym.  All no rules unconventional training these guys were doing.  They were loving it and keep getting stronger.

      Releaving Back Pain

      Tuesday, Oct. 13th 2009

      I was just going through some youtube videos and wanted to post up this quick on Piriformis Myofacial Release.
      At the gym I use this technique and teach all my athletes to use it as well.  This can greatly help with lower back pain and also strain in your glutes.  Give this a try as Joe mentions after you shower or even after a training session.  You can also perform this in other tight areas of your body that need some deep myofacial release.
