      Feature Friday with Jason Pegg

      Friday, Oct. 2nd 2009

Whats up everyone?!  Got another KILLER feature for you from Jason Pegg.

      jasonpegg

SGT Jason Pegg was stationed with the 1st Brigade, 82nd Airborne division of the United States Army in Fort Bragg, NC. On his third deployment to a combat theatre in 2005, in western Afghanistan, he sustained a serious arm injury from an IED (roadside bomb). As a result, he spent 18 months at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, including three months as an inpatient. Two and a half years after not being able to squat 315 pounds with a safety squat bar, Jason has squatted 900 pounds, deadlifted 700+, and has a PR of 565 in the bench.

      Stay the Course

Are you just now getting into the world of strength and fitness? Congratulations to you. Your health is the one of the only things you truly own, and its also the only thing that you can choose to improve or let decline.

Know that you will probably hit many bumps along the path. There will be times that you get unmotivated. You will run into periods that it seems like you are working harder than ever, and you are only going to see miniscule, if any change. You’re not going to see changes over night either. Depressing isn’t it? Does it make you want to quit right now, before you invest your time and hard earned money into it? Don’t quit yet. Read the rest of this first.

If there is one piece of advice that I could give you, it would be to stay the course. I know it doesn’t sound like much, but this has been one of the most valuable pieces of information that I have ever received in my 15 years under the bar. You have to remember that training in the gym mimics life outside the gym. You have good days, and, you will occasionally have bad days. You will have days where everything seems light, and you could train forever. You will have days where everything seems like it is twice as heavy as it should be. The question is can you deal with the ups and downs? Stay the course.

If you sat down and really looked at your life, would you be willing to say that you have more good days than bad? Would you say that the highs are higher than the lows are low? I know I would, and I’ve been through some of the worst situations you could imagine. Four years ago I was wounded by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. I spent almost 3 months as an inpatient during my 18 MONTH stay at a military hospital. 3 months on my back laying in a hospital bed going through surgery after surgery. Did I have some bad days? Absolutely. I also had  great days too. Some of the best memories and fondest moments in my life happened during those 18 months. Knowing that, do you think I look at it a good experience or a bad one? I also got laid off in the middle of the worst recession and one of the highest amounts of jobs lost since the depression. Do you think I’m sitting around moping? Hell no! I’m  taking action to have the future for myself that I want. You have to take action NOW! I’m staying the course to better myself, and make things better for my family. Are you doing the same?

Your life can be the same way, you just have to stay the course. You have to remember that those 20 pounds you want to lose didn’t just appear overnight. You’re not going to add 30 pounds of muscle in a week. You have to realize that it is going to take some hard work and dedication to reach your goals.. Its also going to take some time. You have to remember though too the additional things that you are giving yourself while you work toward your goals. You will feel better. For some people this is immediate. For others, it takes a bit longer. That being said, you WILL feel better. What is that worth to you? I’m sure there are some people who will read this who feel like they have never really accomplished anything in their life. If this is you, why don’t you start working to accomplish something? You may not realize it, but if you’re reading this, you already have. Then the question becomes are you willing to do what it takes to accomplish something and really reach your goals? Are you willing to put in all of your chips and really get after it? Dedicate yourself to positive lifestyle changes and new ways of thinking of yourself? One of the most important things you can ask yourself is Are you willing to do what it takes to get what you want? Will you stay the course?

Thanks again to Jason for this kick ass Feature Friday article.  To find out more about Jason and check out his reaining visit www.EliteFTS.com where he is a featured lifter.

      Announcment + Monday Morning Motivation

      Monday, Sep. 21st 2009

Whats up everyone, how was your weekend!?

So there is a HUGE announcement for you all!

Finally Mike Rojas and I are going to be holding the next Synergy Strength Seminar at the Body Synergy Gym.  We are super excited to do this seminar as we had great success and feedback from our last one.  We wanted to add even more things that we didn’t get to last time so we will be making this a two day event.

We are only accepting 10 people to this 2 day event and already have a few people ready to sign up.  BUT we have not opened up registration. Stay tuned for  this Friday, Sept. 25th where we will announce what all will be covered each day plus some sweet bonuses!!  So mark your calendar and watch out in your email for Friday with all the info.

Here is your Monday Morning Motivation quote.
“Individuals who are positive in their thoughts always tend to look upon the brighter side of life. With their faces turned toward the sunshine, they attempt to see the good, even in the bad. Such individuals habitually think thoughts of a positive nature and they are a blessing to the world. They are in a Positive Vibration, and therefore attract other positive personalities to them.” – Bob Proctor

P.S.  Check out a video review from the last Synergy Strength Seminar that one of our attendees, Doug from Rise Above Strength made.

      Monday Morning Motivation

      Monday, Sep. 14th 2009

Whats up everyone!?  Hope you all had a fun filled weekend, I finally made it out to Hurricane Harbor and had a BLAST!  So much my ass is even sore from all the slides and flying all over the place on some of them.  I even got a killer workout in over the weekend as I missed my Friday training session.
I have some kick ass workouts coming for you this week via the blog so look out for it!  I got the quote this morning and as always I try to put up the best of the best and this one is short and sweet!

“You block your dream when you allow your fear to grow bigger than your faith.” -Mary Manin Morrissey

This is something I have personally have happen to me as I am sure we all have at some point or another, and some of you I know still do this to yourself.  But no more!  Fear is what I like to call the giant killer, your dreams are bigger than anything.  You can not put a price on them, no one can make them happen but you and no one can kill them but you.  The fasest one way road to killing them is fear.  Yes fear is natural it is an instinct of your body saying Hey watch out, this is something that can potentially hurt us.  That hurt can come physically, mentally or both.  It basically is telling us that we are stepping outside of our comfort zone.

BUT that is all it does, to warn us hey we might get hurt, it is telling us to watch out, NOT to be afraid and give up your dream, or give up and not pull that weight, or quit your job to do what you really love.  I think that fear warns us to prepare us for the hard work and ups and downs that lay ahead.  Then after we have accomplished it, we appreciate it all that much more, thanks to the fear overcome by a feeling of accomplishment.
So instead of running away from it, acknowledge it, embrace it and go for it!!

      I asked and you answered!

      Friday, Sep. 11th 2009

      Whats up everyone!!

I want to thank everyone who responded to my email asking what you wanted to see more of.  And congrats to Alex and Jackson who were the first to respond and are getting a phone consultation with me to go over anything and everything with their programs I am looking forward to it!

You all came with some great things you wanted to see more of.  But first I have to share a quick story of the what was going to be fun filled water park day yesterday.  I hardly get a FULL day off between training just about 6 days a week and working security weekend nights, my only one day off is spent sleeping.  So a few friends of mine and my Girlfriend decided we would plan a trip to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor.

I have NEVER been even though I live in So. Cal. so I was super stoked on this.  I woke up early, did some daily reading went and go breakfast for Lauren and I, met with our friends and headed out.  Well to just cut it short we get to Six Flags and they are CLOSED!! Come to find out Monday was the last weekday they were open and now its only weekend till the end of the month.

Yeah I know school started and the summer season is basically over, but we were just thinking hell yeah there will be hardly anyone there! Well we were right thats for sure!

Well anyways I thought that was really entertaining and I still laugh at myself.  But on with what you guys asked for.

A lot of you asked for more workouts, via videos and just here on the blog.  So I am going to give you more of my own workouts I am doing and what I do with my clients.  Also some of you asked about what days to do your GPP and Interval work so I will also make something with that and talk about how to make your own home made sled.

For those of you that are new please dont forget I have a lot of youtube videos up that have workouts and talking about how to make your own home gym equipment.  So go check out some of my older videos at http://www.youtube.com/BodySynergyTraining

Thanks again to everyone who emailed me what they want.  Stay tuned for more to come and have a kick ass weekend!
P.S.  I have some more Feature Fridays coming!
